September has begun and just like you, we are eager to see the first Megasus package leave the warehouse. Can hardly wait for things to get moving? We feel the same way, no doubt.

But let us turn back the clock a bit.

In the last few weeks and months we have been working hard. As you can imagine, the work behind the scenes has been like an emotional rollercoaster, giving us an adrenaline rush and sometimes leaving us weak at the knees - both in a positive and negative sense. Because of your extraordinary contributions, we could begin the production of our series molds at the beginning of this year. Time has flown by and just a few months ago, we were presenting our prototype to you. Since the idea of the Megasus Horserunners was born, we have had over 260 million video views via Facebook!
Since then we have made great strides one after another: continuous development, testing, touch-ups, testing, hair pulling, tinkering, testing, adjusting, testing, rejoicing.

It has been a bumpy road.

We are faced with big and small challenges and sometimes, even bitter setbacks time and time again on our journey. But one thing is clear: We love what we do and the ups and downs that come with it. Granted, tears of joy are better than tears of despair, but somehow, they belong together. No invention simply dropped out of the sky.

Today we would like to share with you two of our greatest obstacles that have been a rough patch on our journey, causing our production to be delayed.


Challenge number one 1 was the Side-Clip adjustment rail.
There was too much play between the spline of the adjustment rail and the Side-Clips, the adjustment rail serves as an anchor for Megasus Horserunners. The interlocking spline of the adjustment rail and the Side-Clips needs to be 100% compatible to one another, meaning no wiggle room what so ever. It was unfortunately so and our product molds needed to be worked on once again. This naturally takes a lot of time and has also led to a few grey hairs

Last week came of the moment of truth, the first samples of the freshly worked on molds were delivered and you can have a look. Problem solved! The Side-Clips now have a rock solid hold on the adjustment rail! Hallelujah!

Challenge number two was the glue.
As a horse lover, you naturally know which kinds of extreme stress need to be withstood! Megasus Horserunners are a new invention, therefore the way we wished to use the glue was something completely new. Even more ideal in our view, is when we’ve found a solution.
In the production process, we found problems that have set us back. Because of the way in which the glue was being processed, it hindered the effectivness of the glue. We reacted promptly to the issues and changed the production process accordingly and found the solution.
Still, we need another 2 to 3 weeks to conduct conclusive tests and if necessary, make any additional improvements. In the meantime, our series molds will become finalized and sent from Portugal to our manufacturer in Tirol.


Work, Shops & Workshops.

Parallel to our product development, we have been working on our new online shop, creating videos for you and finalizing everything necessary for shipments-from packaging design, including the mounting instructions and through to building up the logistic chain.
Furthermore, over the past several weeks we have had 5 distributor workshops where interested people from all over the world came to visit Austria and meet us personally, some of them coming from Brazil, Germany, New Zealand, South Africa and Sweden, just to name a few. We have met some very impressive people during this time and made some valuable contacts who shared an uncanny amount of information with us. Part of our wonderful team has been busy working intensively on creating the Megasus Academy because we will be offering several seminars and several web seminars.There is still a way to go, but we are steadily moving even further along on our journey!

Oh, and we made the finals in our local Fast Forward Award (The Styrian Innovation Prize). We want to give a thousand thanks for the help!
On the 13th of September, the final showdown begins, where the winner will be selected. We are very proud to be a part and we will report the results, once we have them.
What does it mean for our bottom line?
Behind us lies an unbelievably tense time and there were moments when we had our doubts - could we possibly fail?
We are inventors and hoof specialist; however, we can’t influence everything and some components of our Megasus need to be put in the hands of experts in different fields. One example here is that we are not glue experts.
The risk and worries that a crowdfunding dream will flop are always there. Even better is finding the solution that we have sought after for a long time - even with the drawbacks of a delay.

For your tireless support and patience, we could not thank you enough. You have been fantastic! What we can do for you, is deliver a ready product, one that we all can be proud of. This can only happen once the stumbling stones are cleared away.

Even though it is not easy to be patient, we expect it to take until October/November for shipments to begin. We are extremely sorry for the delay and we will continue to give it our all and not ease up.
