Citaat:Urgent Plea to Deputy District Judge Sandeep Kainth - Amersham Horses
Deputy District Judge Sandeep Kainth has ordered 29 donkeys and ponies be returned
to Mr James Gray and his family. Oxford magistrates heard the family consider some
of the donkeys and Shetland ponies to be pets.
Judge Kainth agreed to return the pets to the family but rejected their application
to have the remaining 82 animals returned. These animals will instead be sold at
auction in May in Warwickshire.
The RSPCA had argued that it should be allowed to oversee the re-homing of the
animals in order to safeguard their future welfare.
But Judge Kainth said the donkeys and Shetland ponies had to be returned to the
Grays, "as there is no evidence to show they are in any danger".
RSPCA inspector Kirsty Hampton said the decision to return the horses to the Grays
was "devastating".
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?
Please write directly to Judge Kainth to express your views on exactly why these
equines SHOULD NOT be returned to the Gray family and why the remaining horses
SHOULD NOT be sent to a public auction.

Please ask every animal lover you know to write to Judge Kainth. There might only be
a tiny chance that we can change his mind but for the sake of the horses that chance
must be taken. Please write even if you are not living in the UK. If these animals
are returned or sold then it will set a very bad precedent for future cruelty cases.
We have set up a Facebook group to help spread the word.
