Penny is uitgerekend op 15 April. Ze is drachtig van Zip Me Impressive.

Het ziet ernaar uit dat de ranch twee merries heeft die op het zelfde moment moeten bevallen. Dat ik van de week keek stond er een chestnut in de box. Misschien wisselen ze wel al naar gelang de vordering van de dracht?

4/2/2002 Hello BarnCam Viewers - well, the countdown begins again. And this time we have two mares to watch at the same time - they are due two days apart. Penny is due April 15 (if it's a colt it's been suggested we name him ZMI Tax Man) and Rosie is due April 17. Rosie and Penny are both tricky mares to predict foaling for…Rosie has only waxed and dripped milk a few hours before delivery, and last year Penny surprised us - we were doing morning chores and she was in labor. At midnight the night before she was calm, ate well, and had no imminent signs of foaling. So please help us keep our eyes peeled! One thing, though - Rosie lays down a lot. A real lot! So look sharp to see if she is just resting, or if she is truly having contractions. We always have lots of false alarms with Rosie! We will do an FAQ on both mares tomorrow and post in the next couple of days to tell you more about them. Thanks for watching!

Hello! The gals are doing just fine. True to form, Rosie is faking out BarnCam viewers right and left! (Us, too, sometimes!) She lays down a lot and looks like she is in labor - just practicing. Her udder is geting huge, as usual, but she does not seem ready yet. Penny is eating less and moving around more, but still able to rest fairly well and does not seem like foaling is imminent. Our best guess (just a guess, mind you!) is that it will be a few days yet for both. We will be rotating each mare into the foaling stall to make sure they're comfortable and relaxed when their time comes. They are both very good moms, and we can't wait!
