Goud op de Youth World Cup

Dorris Monnich heeft vandaag de 1e plaats in de cutting gehaald op de jeugdwereldspelen in Amerika. Fenna Elzinga behaalde een 9e plaats in de cutting.

Echt leuk om te zien. Het intervieuw was wat moeilijk te volgen, ze was wat overdonderd geloof ik Lachen

wat ongelooflijk leuk voor Doris. En ontzettend goed dat ze dit zomaar ff doet in Amerika. Trots, trots, trots op mijn "ouwe" lesgenootje.

In the second group of cutters, Dorris Monnich of Team The Netherlands took first, Travis Wright from the United States pulled off a second and Switzerland's Rachel Locher came in third. And in the first group, Tonna Brooks of the U.S. earned second and Fenna Elzinga of Team Netherlands pulled off ninth. Pretty cool, eh?

And get this: Dorris is a new comer to the cutting event. This was her first cutting competition, and she has only been practicing one week! Now, some may say it's beginner's luck, but I know better. I've been watching Dorris ride all week and with all the excellent clinicians and coaches, she just matched her riding talent with a great horse. Dorris admitted to me she was a little nervous before entering the pen, but once she and Victory Play saw the cows, it all came together for her.

"She relaxed and changed cows at a good moment," said proud coach Karin Van Bekkum.
