"Horses at the Whitemud Equine Centre may have been sexually abused within the last year, but police don't have evidence to lay charges in connection with the suspicious incidents.
In one instance, a horse's tail was tied to a corral. In another, a hay bale was placed behind the horse. Ropes were also used to steady the animals, said Mills.
Unfortunately, police don't have evidence to charge anyone, said Mills.
Mills said if police aren't called immediately about an alleged assault, DNA evidence may no longer be retrievable.
A Sun source, who used to board a horse at the centre, claims that last spring there were some instances where horses were tied up, had bales stacked behind them, and Vaseline on their backsides.
