Citaat:Team Jumping: Tendon injury on WHO KNOWS LILY (ARG) 24 Aug. 2004
ATHENS, 24 August - Following the injury of Argentinan horse WHO KNOWS LILY during the first Round of the Team competition, Professor Leo JEFFCOTT (GBR), Chairman of the Veterinary Commission, issued the following statement:
"The horse went acutely lame on the left forelimb in the arena. It was taken from the arena by horse ambulance to the Veterinary Clinic where radiographs of the limb were taken. There were no signs of any fracture to the bones of the distal left forelimb, but evidence of acute strain to the superficial flexor tendon (i.e. bowed tendon) was seen.
"The horse was treated with analgesic drugs, the tendon iced and the limb supported.
"The horse will be returned to the stables and treated conservatively."
