Merrie is aan het kegelen...kon daar vanochtend wel eens komen...
Pretty Girl is a seasoned broodmare with a very mellow disposition. You might notice a limp from an old leg injury that permanently impaired her mobility. The mare is becoming more uncomfortable with what appears to be a large foal. She tends to lie down often, even when in the large turnout attached to the stall. To encourage her to move around she is being turned out on pasture to graze and naturally exercise during the day for several hours, then returned to the foaling stall at night for monitoring.
Pretty Girl is sunken around the tail and has been transitioning in and out of colostrum for almost 2 weeks. This mare is difficult to catch for foaling because she typically transitions in and out of colostrum ... then with little/no notice produces her foal. She could foal any time!
2/21 - This is the sweetest Pretty Girl's milk has tasted - the furthest into colostrum she has transitioned. She looks very uncomfortable ... HUGE!
2/22 Pretty Girl's milk is a bit thicker and slightly cloudier. Could be she really means to make the full transition into colostrum and foal!
