A straight horse is not making a circle, he is making an octagon. So, don't make stop signs, make a green light....Help him stay upright, but arced, by steering around the circle with your eyes and belly button. Keep your eyes and belly button in alignment,your body in the middle of him. Do not drop your shoulder into the circle or your horse will obliging drop his! Using your belly button, or center, will help you get your hands and legs in the correct place to make a round circle, not a series of awkward turns.
