NFQHA registratie

Heeft er iemand ervaring met de NFQHA?
Ik zou graag willen weten of mijn paard hiervoor in aanmerking komt, of er in iedergeval meer over te weten willen komen.
Ik heb begrepen dat je het een en ander zelf al kan nazoeken. Je paard moet ieg 75% tot 80% foundation bloed met zich meedragen en niet meer dan 25% Thoroughbred, maar dit verschilt ook weer me andere instanties (WFQHA bijv)
Ben benieuwd of iemand mij hier meer over kan vertellen.

The following is a brief explanation of how NFQHA figures the percentage of Quarter Horse blood. Our calculations are based on the amount of Thoroughbred blood in a pedigree. The reasoning behind this approach is that TB is the only outside blood that has been allowed to be added to AQHA registered Quarter Horses. Of course, when AQHA was originally founded by Robert Denhardt to preserve the Bulldog Type Quarter Horse, the blood in the founding stock was a mixture of Barb, Thoroughbred, Mustang, Arab, draft horse, and a myriad of other blood. However, the registry was closed to all of these breeds except the Thoroughbred.

NFQHA’s philosophy is that if the only added blood is taken out, what remains is the original foundation stock. NFQHA also believes that generally the more TB in a horse’s pedigree, the more TB attributes that horse will likely exhibit, and the more Quarter Horse attributes will be lost.

Beginning 01/01/97 the maximum allowable Thoroughbred blood is 20%. (A horse must possess 80% Quarter Horse blood.) It does not matter what generation the TB appears in as long as the total does not exceed the allowable amount. In order to figure the TB percentage, the amount contributed by the first TB ancestor encountered on each line is added together to come up with the total Thoroughbred blood.

Each generation contributes one half as much to the pedigree as the prior one. A parent contributes 50%, a grandparent contributes 25%, a great grandparent contributes 12.5%, etc. A horse having one TB great grandparent (12.5%), one TB great great great grandparent (3.125%), and one TB great great great great grandparent (1.56%), carries 17.185% TB blood.

(12.5% + 3.125% + 1.56% = 17.185% TB Blood)
The horse in this example carries 82.815% Quarter Horse blood (which is rounded up to 83%) and is eligible for NFQHA registration.

To establish the TB in a pedigree, NFQHA researches the pedigree back ten generations, or to the parents of the first registered horse, whichever comes first on each line. Each time a TB is encountered, it is added to the total. The only two exceptions to this rule are JOE REED #3, and OKLAHOMA STAR #6. They were honored with #3 and #6, by AQHA because of their important contribution to the breed as Founding Sires. Because of this, NFQHA does not look at the TB in their parents, and they are considered 100% Quarter Horse blood.

Bij de FQHA moet het percentage meer dan 90% zijn, gerekend vanaf 1940. Het principe van de berekening is hetzelfde.

Je moet dus wel bij de AQHA de pedigree -10 generaties terug- van je paard opvragen

probeer eens contact te zoeken met claudia rossel van slidnghorse.
die is hiermee bezig geweest de laatste tijd.
ik dacht dat ze op bokt bekend stond onder cl@udia.
moet je maar even kijken.

Volgens mij kun je op de site van de FQHA ook een proef aanvragen en wordt er dan gekeken of je paard voldoende non-TB is om voor registratie in aanmerking te komen. Ook staan er ellenlange lijsten met Quarters en hun %%-Quarterbloed.

Het is super simpel. Je gaat naar de site van de FQHA, daar kun je je paard aanmelden en laten berekenen of je paard in aanmerking komt voor registratie. Je krijgt dan van zelf thuis bericht of je paard geaccepteerd wordt of niet en meteen ook welke TBs in je paards bloedlijnen aanwezig zijn.
