Caretino brings his excellent breeding to us in the U.S. and we couldn't be luckier! This medium sized stallion with very strong, short back and small ears has proven to Fox Fire Farm that he is quickly becoming one of the most important sires in Holstein. Just reading his statistics confirms it. Already the producer of 18 stallion sons and 114 daughters, twelve of them State Premium. Caretino is convincing proof of good breeding. His sire Caletto II was the most important son of Cor de la Bryere.
What is astonishing about Caretino is his ability to throw such unbelievable movement and jumpability. He has approved sons, Cheenook, Carpaccio and Cockney all who are some of the best movers we have ever seen in the Dressage ring. Caretinos' daughter, Ballerina is a current international jumping sensation. Caretino won his 100 Day Test and moved on to win the German Championships in Mannheim under Bo Kristoffersen. Under Ludger Beerbaum he continued his outstanding career until retired to stud.
Caretino is by Caletto II, the most important son of the Holsteiner breed mainstay, Cor de la Bryere. Caretino has more than 100 offspring in the sport and has produced 18 approved sons and 12 German State Premium daughters. As a young stallion, he placed first in his 100-day test in the Holsteiner Verband. Under Bo Kristoffersen he won the German Championships and later was shown by Ludger Beerbaum, with whom he continued his outstanding Grand Prix career until he was retired. Most recently, his son Camirez won the 2001 Hamburg Derby, one of the most demanding events in the international circuit, with Germany's Marcus Merschformann. Caretino is one of Germany's top stallions, producing horses that excel in both the dressage and jumper rings.

After two heats in the TNT Sires of the World competition, TNT Caretano Z has easily taken the lead. The brown stallion, from the Holsteiner stallion Caretino and the mare Bravo (sired by Reichsgraf) took the second place during the qualifying rounds on his own home ground in Lanaken. A few weeks later he very convincingly succeeded in winning the heat in Kiel.

Caretano Z, de Holsteiner hengst waarmee Jos Lansink van plan was te starten op het Europees Kampioenschap in Arnhem (27 juni t/m 1 juli a.s.), is onderweg naar het CHIO Rome aan een liesbreuk bezweken. De spoedoperatie in een kliniek in Pisa doorstond het paard weliwaar goed, maar tijdens de recovery bleek alles tevergeefs.
Met Caretano Z verliest de voor België rijdende topruiter zijn troef voor zowel het komende EK als de nog lopende internationale hengstencompetitie 'Sires of the World', waarin de combinatie -met alleen nog de finale te gaan- op een enorme voorsprong stond. De Caretino-zoon had een zeer bijzondere afstamming van moederskant waardoor hij bij de fokkers enorm populair was. Jaarlijks werden in heel West-Europa ca. 400 merries van hem geïnsemineerd.
Jos Lansink heeft nu in Rome nog twee ijzers in het vuur, waarvan er een een halfbroer is van Caretano Z. Deze Caridor Z is een 10-jarige nieuwe aanwinst afkomstig uit Argentinië, maar geboren in Holstein. Zijn moeder komt uit dezelfde fokfamilie als zijn vader Caretino. Of Caridor Z zijn overleden halfbroer kan evenaren moet nog blijken. In elk geval is de klap bij Léon Melchior, eigenaar van Stoeterij Zangersheide en van Jos Lansink's paarden, hard aangekomen. "Hij was niet verzekerd omdat ik geen van mijn paarden verzeker. Maar de schade in sportief opzicht is minstens even groot. Na vier jaar zorgvuldig trainen vormde Jos er een fantastische en betrouwbare combinatie mee en dat is nu in één klap voorbij."

Caretino is Holstein’s best stallion at the moment. Landgraf I is Holstein’s stallion of the Century,
and Rasputin is an on Ramzes x inbred performance producer.

Caletto II, father of Caretino, jumped internationally just like many of his offspring
who excel in the showjumping sport such as: Ballerina, Dega, and Caretano.
Together with Caletto II, Landgraf I, Ramiro, Cor de la Bryere and two times Ramzes x,
this stallion is full of jumping-genes. The maternal line is the famous line of Osterblume which includes
the grandmother of Natal. She sired the international showjumpers: Carat - Reiner Hedde, Libera - Jos Lansink,
Calido - Evelyn Blaton, and the approved stallion Candeletto who is also an international showjumper.
His mother, Traumerin, sired not only Natal but also the international showjumpers Aron and the Dutch Champion,
Bolvorms Athletico, who is also an approved stallion.

Natal performed a very good Stallion Test and excelled in jumping. He has a lot of scope, power and very good technique.
Natal has a potential exterior and in his work, he is a quality stallion with plenty of blood.
Natal qualified for the IAN Championship for 4 year olds and the finals of the Stallion Competition.
