Rare paarden met naar binnengedraaide oren?

op TV zie ik wel vaker in van die verre landen
van die paarden die de punt van hun oren helemaal naar binnen gedraaid hebben.
Van die vage paarden heel smal met dus die maffe oren,ja ik weet niet zo goed hoe ik t uit moet leggen,hoop dat jullie me zo snappen.

Mijn vraag is dus:wat is dit voor paardenras?

Kathiawari en de Marwari zijn indiase rassen met van die maffe oren. Erg cool vind ik ze. In India heb ik ze wel life gezien. Sommige kunnen ook tolten.

De bouw van t lichaam is wel mooi maar die oren.....dat tekent ineens zo raar af!

hihi wat grappig, maar voor de tegenstelling van de Indiaase paarden hoef ik geen plaatjes te plakken van Brooke Hospital.

Ja het is idd wel lachuh die oren ik zou zo'n paard niet willen hebben
ja voor n clownshow!

Maar Pellie:ik ben geen vaste donateur maar bij DA staat een potje voor Brooke en ik kom daar nogal vaak (wat wil je :met twee honden,katten,konijnen,cavia's en nog veel meer beesten)dus dump ik daar altijd al mn kleingeld

Als ze net geboren zijn dan naaien ze de puntjes aan elkaar en dan groeien ze vanzelf in dit model. Tong uitsteken

zijn er ergens ook duidelijke foto's te vinden van een paardenhoofd met zulke oren? Ik vind ze nl wel apart voor op m'n site als portret. Weer eens wat anders Haha!

Both the Marwari and Kathiawari horses can be traced back to the sixth century, if not earlier. The name Marwari is relatively new, being derived from a district in Rajasthan called Marwar. This lies west of the Aravalli Hills and takes in the entire Jodhpur region. Kathiawar is in Gujarat.

The horses were used as battle horses, and records are to be found stating the number each noble man should keep in his stable. With local feuds and wars with other states and the Mogul hordes, the horse was the warrior's greatest asset. The Rajput or warrior caste in Rajasthan worship horses to this very day.

Both breeds are blessed with unlimited stamina and a fair turn of foot. They are ultra agile and extremely hardy, with the ability to survive great ranges of temperature. They are sure-footed and equally at home in rough, rocky terrain or sandy desert.

These proud and beautiful breeds are commonly used for marriage ceremonies, the bridegroom coming to fetch his bride on a fine white charger. The horses are used extensively throughout Rajasthan/Gujarat/Delhi and other states for this purpose. They carry the groom - who has probably never been on a horse before - decked out in colourful saddle clothes and latticed covers over their quarters and wearing fine bridles.

The horse walks just behind the blaring band surrounded by lit candelabra, powered by a generator and carried by a series of boys. The wires hang in loops between them. Firecrackers and fireworks are let off under and around them.

There are frequent halts in the procession which can take up to four hours. Wedding horses are trained to dance piaffe fashion and the owner or handler who leads him will make him perform. This way the groom really does arrive on a fine prancing horse. Even in small villages, the poorer small horses will be able to perform quite well. A really good looking dancing horse can earn a good income during the wedding season, his owner travelling at night from one ceremony to another. Some country folk will still keep a horse simply because they worship them, using it as a status symbol and to travel from place to place.

Village horses in the desert districts are all taught "rewaal" a pacing gait where the rider sits but does not post. The horse is taught this gait, with the rider sitting very far back on the saddle or pad, with his legs pointing well forward. The forehand is then quite free and the hindlegs well engaged.

At "rewaal" these horses cover a lot of ground and can keep it up for many hours without tiring. It is well suited to the simple, not well off, owner because it means he can ride using just a pad rather than with a saddle and stirrups. There are "rewaal" races at horse shows; at fairs the horses will similarly be shown off.

Many of these village horses live in the house as part of the family. If you buy a new horse, it will only be brought into the house for the first time on an auspicious occasion, and then treated as an honored guest. Previously bathed, it will be led to the door and the lady of the house will make the Red Tilak mark on his forehead on which rice grains are placed. After being given some "jaggery" (sugar) a marigold garland or sacred thread will be placed around his neck and coin under his hoof. Only then may the horse enter.

There are many superstitions and beliefs surrounding horses: for instance to ensure that her progeny is like the stallion a mare must not see another horse during, or just after, the mating. If necessary screens will be erected.

White blazes are very popular and if the stallion is a nice horse , but with no blaze a piece of white paper will be fixed to his face. The mare sees this and, even today, people swear her offspring will have a white face.

When buying a horse, great importance is attached to the placement of the auspicious or inauspicious whorls, 36 in total, especially the one on the forehead. This also influences the price.

Traditionally, mares should have their manes on the left and stallions on the right. It also means that as a strange rider approaches, you can spot the difference.

After the break-up of the Rajput states at the coming of Indian independence and the advent of the jeep, horses as a whole suffered a serious decline.

Thankfully both the Marwari and Kathiawari were still bred in small numbers, several Rajput families keeping certain strains. There seem to be two distinct types of Marwari. One is a slightly heavier, large more rangy, horse often reaching 16hh, with a quite common head and an almost straight face. The other is a finer horse with an exquisite head. Both are acceptable and make fine riding horses. The smaller is thought to be more correct and, judging from old paintings, the average size was 14.3hh.

Marwari and Kathiawari come in all colours. Ablak (piebald or skewbald) is the most popular and attracts a higher price. Black and any plain colored horse without any white is considered inauspicious. A great favourite is Panjkaliyan, black or dark brown with four white socks and white blaze.

Nowadays there are no warriors to carry into battle, and the jeep has virtually taken over as a means of village transport. But, thanks to a few far-sighted people, the value of the breed is recognised and several groups are working towards a standard. A breed society has been formed for the Kathiawar, and it is hoped the same will shortly be done for the Marwari.

Tsjah,waarom zou het nut moeten hebben?
Elk paard is toch ook anders gebouwd?
Welshjes hebben ook meer gevormde oren dan bv weer kwpners ofzo.

Meestal heeft een 'afwijking' wel nut of iig nut gehad in de evolutie Haha!

Ja wie zegt dat t een afwijking is,dat zal het niet zijn maar of t nut heeft ?
dat hoeft ook niet altijd
wij hebben toch ook een blindedarm die er uit ken en keelamandelen gaan er toch ook bij heel veel mensen uit?Dat zjn ook functie-loze dingen

Amandelen zijn niet functieloos, ze doden veel indringers in het lichaam die ziekten veroorzaken, vandaar dat een kind zonder die "nootjes" sneller ziek is dan eentje met, maar dan mogen ze niet gaan ontsteken. De dag van vandaag gaan die dingen eruit en zwaaien ze liever met een flesje antibiotica ... Gezondheid noemen ze dit dan ...

EVEN ONTOPPIC - er zijn hier toch ook rassen met "andere" oren, als ik die twee van mij bekijk, mijn pony heeft kleine stompe oortjes, m'n tink van die lang "konijnen" oren ... helemaal anders - maar daarom niet minder of meer ... een man met flaporen trekt mij ook niet aan, maar als ie voor de rest er goed uitziet neem ik 'r z'n oren ook wel bij hoor Haha!

Een goed paard heeft geen kleur zegt men, en "feet make the horse go around" heb ik ook vaker gehoord ... dus of die oren nu zus of zo zijn, het blijken uit de omschrijven héél karakter vaste dieren te zijn, volgens de tekst steken ze zelfs voetzoekers af onder die dieren ... doe dan maar 's met menig ander paard hier in onze lage landen!!! CHAPEAU!!!
